A rewording tool takes text you already wrote and gives it back in different words with the same meaning. This rewording tool uses AI to reword a sentence, a paragraph or a short email in one tap. It is told to keep your facts, names, numbers and dates, and you pick the tone: clearer, shorter, friendlier, more professional, more confident or more polite.
Most people who search for a rewording tool are not short of ideas. They have a sentence that says the right thing in the wrong words: too long, too stiff, too blunt or just clumsy. Paste it in, tap Just AI it, and you get one reworded version back that you can copy straight away.
This is an AI reworder, not a synonym spinner. A synonym spinner swaps single words and often breaks the grammar. This tool rewrites the whole sentence so it reads naturally, and the tone you choose decides what changes. Clearer is selected on this page because it is the closest to plain rewording: same message, easier words, better order.
There is no separate mode that only swaps words. If you want the structure to stay exactly as it is, Clearer on a short sentence is the lightest touch. If you want a bigger change, try Shorter or Professional on the same text and compare.
How to use the rewording tool
- Paste the sentence or paragraph you want reworded into the box. A single sentence gives the most focused result, but a short email or a few paragraphs works too.
- Pick a tone. Clearer is selected here. Tap Professional, Friendlier or Shorter, or open More styles for More confident, Polite and the fun styles.
- Tap Just AI it, read the reworded text once, then copy it. If the wording is still not right, run it again or try another tone on the same text.
It's free with no signup. Each rewrite takes up to 2,000 characters, and you get 25 rewrites a day, up to 5 a minute. The daily count resets at midnight UTC.

Who uses a rewording tool
People writing to a stranger
Job applications, landlord emails and first messages to a client are where wording matters most. The first example above turned a 22 word opener into a 10 word one that asks the same question.
Busy professionals
A quick note typed between meetings can read as careless. Professional rewords it into a calm request and is told to keep the details, such as which week and which report.
Support and front desk staff
Template replies often sound cold. Friendlier rewords them so they sound like a person wrote them, while keeping the promise, such as the 3 business days in the example.
Non-native English writers
Paste a sentence you are unsure about and compare your version with the reworded one. The six everyday tones are told to reply in the language you write in, so you can try it in other languages too.
Rewording vs rewriting vs paraphrasing
These three words get used as if they mean the same thing, and rewording tools, rewriters and paraphrasers often overlap. The difference is how much changes. Rewording changes the words. Rewriting can change the words, the order, the length and the tone. Paraphrasing restates someone else's idea in your own words, usually with a citation.
| Rewording | Rewriting | Paraphrasing | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What changes | Mostly word choice and phrasing | Words, order, length and tone | Words and structure, idea stays the same |
| Whose text | Usually your own | Usually your own | Often someone else's, so cite it |
| Length | About the same | Can be much shorter or longer | About the same |
| On this site | This page, Clearer tone | Any tone, such as Shorter or Professional | Not a dedicated mode; cite your sources yourself |
How to reword something by hand
A rewording AI is fast, but it helps to know what it is doing so you can judge the result. These are the same moves a good editor makes when rewording words in a sentence.
- Start with the point. Put who is doing what at the front: "I'm writing to ask" instead of "The reason why I am writing this is because".
- Swap phrases for words. "Due to the fact that" becomes "because" and "at this point in time" becomes "now".
- Turn questions into requests when you need something: "Could you send last week's figures?" reads better than "can u send me the numbers".
- Keep the facts. Numbers, dates, names and promises should survive any rewording. Check them once before you send.
- Read it out loud. If the reworded sentence sounds like you, it is done.
What the rewording tool will and won't do
- It will reword up to 2,000 characters per run and return one version you can copy.
- It is told to keep your meaning, facts, names, numbers and dates, and to reply in the language you write in for the everyday tones.
- It won't add facts, quotes or sources that you didn't give it.
- It isn't a plagiarism tool. Rewording someone else's text does not make it yours, so credit the source.
- It can make mistakes. Read the reworded text before you send it.
Rewording tool FAQ
Is the rewording tool free?
Yes. It's free with no signup. You get 25 rewrites a day, up to 5 a minute, and each rewrite can be up to 2,000 characters. The daily count resets at midnight UTC.
Is this a reworder or a reword generator?
Both names fit. You paste text, and the AI generates one reworded version in the tone you pick. It rewrites whole sentences rather than swapping single words, so the result reads naturally.
Will rewording change my meaning?
It is told to keep your meaning, facts, names, numbers and dates. Some tones change more than words: More confident removes hedging and Polite softens demands, which can shift how strong a sentence sounds. Read the result once, especially if it has an amount or a date.
Can I reword a whole paragraph?
Yes. Each rewrite takes up to 2,000 characters, which is a few paragraphs. For a block of text with a buried point, the paragraph rewriter puts the main point first.
Can I reword text in another language?
The six everyday tones are told to reply in the language you write in. The fun styles, such as Shakespeare and Pirate, are written in English.
Is rewording someone else's text plagiarism?
It can be. Changing the words of someone else's writing does not make the idea yours. If you reword a source, cite it, and follow your school's or employer's rules on AI tools.
Do you store what I paste?
No account is needed. Your text goes to our AI provider to make the rewrite. We keep the text and the result in a short-lived cache for up to 7 days so repeat requests are faster and so you can share a result. Nothing becomes public unless you tap Share, and Share removes emails and phone numbers first. Don't paste passwords or account numbers.
